American Studies Departmental Honors

Offered by American Studies . The honors program offers an additional opportunity for in-depth study. Students gain an intensive grounding in many theoretical approaches in American cultural studies, expand upon their American Studies senior seminar projects, and complete an honors thesis with the guidance of a faculty advisor.

Admission to the Program

Demonstrated academic achievement, including a GPA of 3.5 in American Studies courses
Completion of AMST 100 or AMST 200 and completion of AMST 301
Submission of a proposed research topic or the literature review from AMST 301 and an American Studies writing sample

Program Requirements

Completion of the American Studies, B.A. and 4 additional credits
