BTEC 453 - Biochemical Engineering(4.00) An overview of biochemical and microbiological applications, commercial and engineering processes including: industrial fermentation, enzymology, ultrafiltration, chromatography, and food and pharmaceutical processing. Important principles include: enzyme kinetics, cell growth, energetics and mass transfer. Processes of interest include those that are involved in the formation of desirable compounds and products or in the transformation, or destruction of unwanted or toxic substances.
